Will digital TV and Radio
be able to do what the Internet so far has not? Or somehow on the internet will
it happen? While I may need to fine tune my music even further "Fictitious Optimism"
was a dramatic improvement to what the music was when it was just one person
with an acoustic guitar and I still hope to see a sponsored release of a future
version. However I know the music is not being heard when the CDs end up on
ebay or amazon still in the plastic wrapping. So far the entertainment industry
has just shifted some of the same artist destroying tactics to the Internet
that they have for too long used. I am referring here to an artist being required
to gather a following. This is a mind blowing waste of time. It is also simply
not profitable on a small scale. While I still need to reach more people to
support the music, the quality and quantity would be better if I did not have
to spend time on this. Did I mention this is waste of energy? So while others
are still to watch their lyrics, vocals and music ability suffer. I have since
taken the self promotion to the limit of my physical ability in 2004 and 2005
and 2006 with the promotion of over 55,000 leaflets for 2 ticketed shows and
5000 CDs much of which were given to radio stations and TV and press.{There
was also additional postering planned and a self released CD in shops and more.}
Painful yet? {Well there was even more.} And then In 2006 some CDs were also
given away after not being able to find a venue that would help with the promotion
of to be repeated one off shows. And to find people who might become more involved
with the project and also because at the time I thought I might need to move.
It is much easier for a venue to build a following than it is for a band.
"Ask
the question loud enough and the answer you will receive." L.F.
